Commission for Jenny and Chris

I recently was give the pleasure of creating a unique print for Jenny and Chris of Cairn Bay Lodge. It was to celebrate Chris' parents fiftieth wedding anniversary, and incorporated their names, their children and grandchildren, and the different places they have lived.

The inset letters are printed using letterpress and the outside detail is screen printed. It includes a bronze garland, with a line from a biblical saying, and a map garland, made up of cut leaves from an old map of N.Ireland.

It has been finished with stitching in yellow thread, and some appliqued matt colour leaves.
I hope they are pleased when presented with it tomorrow- Happy 50th!

A few new pieces

Here are a few images of some new work I have been working on. I'm doing more commissioned work now, and love to adapt my style to suit. Bit of a baby theme going on here, but hey, it takes one to know one!
Would love to hear any feedback. ;-)

Screen Printing Nostalgia for Open House Festival

This summer, to mark the return of Open House Festival to Bangor, I am making a set of limited edition screen prints. They are a reproduction of the festival catalogue's front cover, designed by the talented Tim Farrell. It features an image taken from an old postcard of the Ladies Bathing Place, just past Pickie.
I am using the four colour CMYK process, which can be tricky to get right, so I've been in the workshop testing. Here are a few photos of the process.
Keep your eye out here for more updates. I will be producing an edition of 80 of these posters. 40 of them will have the headline artists on it as well. I will be selling them from my Pink Pod at Project 24, Bangor, and at most of the gigs. However please get in touch if you would like to order yours now!

NEW! Letterpress cards

Just wanted to share some images of the letter press card range I'm working on at the minute. I am really enjoying making them, and hope to continue to add to the collection.
I will have them listed on my website soon, but in the meantime you can buy them at the gorgeous Kiln and Loom on the Ormeau Road, or at my pink pod!

Jumpers for Goalposts Finale

Here are just a handful of images rounding up my latest commission project, Jumpers for Goalposts. Eleven designers from AVB Group were given the chance to work on something that was particularly meaningful to them- the beautiful game of Association Football. No client, no strict brief, just freedom to design a piece of art, that I would help bring to life.
Here's to the next project, its been great!
If you would be interested in buying one of these prints, take a look here!

New shoes for the Little Lady.

As per usual, I've been meaning to write this for ages now, but finding the time has been tough!

Little Juno will turn one at the end of this month- wow how this year has both flown, and yet looking back to the same time last year, so much has changed in our lives.

Anyway, my lovely sister Samantha, on my request, bought these gorgeous hand made moccassins from Monkey and Mole as an early first birthday present for the baby.

I absolutely love them, and they are the perfect size for Juno- a little bit big, with plenty of growing room for when she gets up onto her feet properly.

These will definitely be cherished for a long time.
