Wedding fever

Last weekend we had the wedding of my friends whom I had made the invitations for. The service was in a country Chapel just on the border between North and South Ireland, beautifully decorated and filled with sounds of violin and harp.
Then it was back to the very large and luxurious Slieve Russell hotel in Co.Cavan. Here we enjoyed a relaxed day with delicious food and emotional speeches. It was a sober affair for me, being 20 weeks pregnant, so felt quite different from previous alcohol filled family weddings! Nevertheless is was lovely to spend a couple of nights in a hotel and be pampered. It was Rudi's first wedding experience and she certainly had a ball, especially on the dance floor!

Christmas en famille in Donegal

Hi all,

Firstly can I wish anyone reading this a Happy New Year!
I hope that this year will be a peaceful and happy one for you all.

2013 is sure to bring me a few new experiences; getting into the stride of being self employed and the battles that go with it, leading Birds&Words on to new horizons, and lets not forget, introducing baby number one into the world. Mmm I get the feeling that things will be pretty hectic.

Hence I have been enjoying this Christmas and taking the time to chill with my family. Its been a pretty sober one for me, but it hasn't bothered me too much. The hangover free mornings are a welcome recompense.
This year my parents decided to rent a house in Donegal (North West Ireland) over the Christmas period. There was room for all of us, so we grabbed the opportunity to get away for a few days and head North to the beautiful deserted beaches and rocky headlands.

Donegal has the magic powers to make anyone feel good, and when the sun shines, there is no better place.
